On the Eve of the 7th Tehran Virtual Book Fair: Unveiling the "Roshd" Educational Resource List Across 13 Subject Areas

This collection provides a concise introduction to over 1,500 outstanding educational and pedagogical books across 13 specialized fields. These works successfully earned the "Roshd Seal of Quality" (Levels 1 and 2) for their quantitative and qualitative excellence during the 2024-2025 period.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Office of the Organization for Educational Research and Planning (OERP), the rapid and diverse growth of educational materials—often inconsistent with pedagogical standards—has made rigorous validation and evaluation indispensable.

To address this, the OERP publishes the "Roshd List" to establish a systematic accreditation framework for educational resources. By implementing policy-making, standardization, and guided production, the organization aims to foster essential competencies, support the continuous development of children’s identity, and promote the value of "Beneficial Knowledge." This initiative serves as a vital link in the chain of learning between schools and families, achieved by awarding the "Roshd Seal" to resources that meet both general and specialized standards.

Introducing the Roshd List

Since 2016, the "Roshd List" has been published to provide schools, families, and students with a selection of the most suitable educational media. Initially, these were categorized into five educational levels: Pre-school, Elementary, Lower Secondary, Upper Secondary, and Technical/Vocational. These resources undergo a year-long evaluation process to secure a high-tier Roshd Seal (Grades 1 and 2).

Marking a decade since its first publication, the format has evolved. Starting in 2026, the five educational levels have been replaced by 13 subject-based categories. The new thematic areas featured in the Roshd Catalog are:

4. Documentaries and Memoirs

5. Religious and Quranic Studies

6. Humanities

7. Knowledge Enhancement

8. Pre-school Education

9. Skill-based and Applied Sciences

10. Persian Poetry and Literature

11. Educational Sciences and Psychology

12. Supplementary Curricular Materials

13. Arts

This report confirms that the first issue of the Thematic Roshd List includes 1,552 selected works (published by children’s, young adult, and educational publishers). These titles were evaluated by the OERP’s Office of Educational Publishing and Technology during 2024 and 2025. Notably, per Resolution 828 of the Supreme Council of Education, all schools are required to select resources for classroom libraries, school exhibitions, and reading events exclusively from books bearing the "Roshd Seal."

This list is expected to be an efficient tool for parents, teachers, and students to identify beneficial books. Furthermore, it aims to enhance the quality of resources in school libraries and serve as a benchmark for scientific, educational, and cultural competitions organized by the Ministry of Education.
