The head of Special Education Organization Majid Ghadami in the joint meeting of deputies of the Minister of Education said: at the current situation, there are 20 autism schools in the country. “Each province requires at least one school of autism”, he added.
Ghadami said: there are nearly 78000 students with special needs. He also said: nearly 10 to 15 percent of students suffer from learning disabilities. These students enjoy normal intelligence but they have problems with 1 or 2 subjects. New findings suggest that weak teachers (in terms of literacy) in the elementary education can pave the way for learning disabilities. In this regard, the teachers should be chosen meticulously.
