‘Storytelling’ a creative and engaging way to teach in elementary school

The dean of the Department of elementary education has described storytelling as a useful tool for providing creative and attractive education to primary school children. Rezwan Hakimzadeh said: “storytelling, in addition to being a good means to transferring the concepts of education to children, can also be a good tool for enhancing social skills, creativity and formation of values in children.” By referring to the holy Qur'an, she added: “I recommend families and schools to push the children to storytelling.” Adding that while learning objectively, children also have a strong embodiment, and the story is an important tool in their learning.

She said: “storytelling plays an important role as an educational tool, while it is not restricted like other literary and artistic activities such as theater and painting, it is also the easiest way that can be used to teach children in happy and attractive manners, and I hope that this matter will be taken seriously by the teachers and will be included in their work program, especially in the elementary period.”
