‘Transformation Document’ the only path to educational development

According to the Ministry of Education's Information and Public Relations Center, Seyyed Mohammad Bathayi, at the fourth national conference of psychology of the school, emphasizing on the transformation into educational psychology, said that the educational system like other organizations and institutions, has an organizational culture and rules that affect the behavior and function of the staff of the organization.

He added: “Some organizations and institutions welcome work-mix or change in activities, but some organizations insist on traditional methods and strongly resist the developments, and unfortunately, education stands to the second method; therefore, we observe that after the revolution, despite the good studies that have been done, obstacles and resistance had been on the way of transformation.”

Concerning the existence of more than 13 million students, Bathayi noted that 26 million parents and a total of about 40 million people are involved with education, and this vastness may be one of the causes of resistance to change.

He said: “In recent decades, many studies have been carried out to make changes and fix faults that have been made between training and educational content, but in practice there has been no change and there is still a gap, so today it's time to go for fast changes.”

He highlighted the distance between what the student is learning at school and what society and families need in order to reduce the status and importance of education in the community and said that today, teaching life skills in school is vital, and cyberspace is one of the urgent needs of the community, which unfortunately, there is no official education in the school for students in this area.

He described the Transformation Document as one of the upstream documents that paved the road map for education, and stated that the removal of the test from the elementary period is obvious and necessary for anyone to conclude with a conventional study, because holding exams in the elementary period deprive students from a joyful life and the opportunity to play which addresses their childhood, and brings them a lots of stress.

At the end, he appreciated the efforts of the Iran’s Islamic Parliament in transforming education.
