In a meeting with his French counterpart, Thierry Mandon, he stressed the need for further academic and research cooperation between the two countries.

Referring to the ancient history of Iran-France cooperation in the academic and research fields, Farhadi maintained implementation of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) will create suitable opportunities for boosting scientific cooperation.

The Iranian minister also stressed the need for creating further facilities for the Iranian students and researchers in the field of visa issuance by the French government, setting up joint scientific and academic centers and exchang of students.

Mandon, for his part, said that French academic and research centers have always been interested in cooperating with the Iranian centers, Farhadi further pointed out that nuclear deal between Iran and Group 5+1 has created a positive atmosphere as the French institutes are impatiently waiting for undertaking their plans such as exchange of delegations.

At the end of the meeting, both minister agreed to establish an executive committee between Iran and France for implementing agreements.

During Rouhani's visit to Paris, it was also agreed that a French delegation visit Iran in May 2016.
