According to the latest announcements made by Thomson Reuters Institute for Information Science, Dr. Mahmood Mehrdad Shokrie and Dr. Shahram Jadid, faculty members from Iran University of Science and Technology, have been added to the list of top 1 percent researchers in the world. With this addition, this university now has 10 faculty members included in the mentioned list.
Dr. Mahmood Mehrdad Shokrie and Dr. Shahram Jadid are full-time professors in the faculties of Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering, respectively.
Every two month, Thomson Reuters ISI Essential Science Indicators database releases a new list of top scientists which is updated based on the latest developments in the international science network.
ISI Essential Science Indicators evaluate scientific authority to elect distinguished scientists, some of whom may be placeholders in several scientific threads.
The Institute for Information Science counts the number of references which have been made to certain studies in the past 10 years. The studies are categorized into 22 scientific threads. The researchers as the authors of those studies are then sorted based on the number of times they have been referred to. In the end, the top 1 percent who make it to the list are recognized as top 1% scientists.
