10,000 Taiwan Students May Be Unable to Graduate

Junior high students were previously required to pass three of seven courses to graduate. The threshold, however, was raised to four starting this year.
There are about 285,000 students enrolled in the ninth grade in 2014, and more than 10,000 of them failed to pass the required number of courses.
Although these students cannot get a graduation certificate, they can still enter a senior high school or receive vocational education, according to the education authority, saying that schools should offer remedies to these students.
