The statement called for the spreading of dialogue among Shia, Sunni and other Muslims to encourage reconciliation between them. Peaceful resolutions should be found to disputes such as those in Pakistan, Syria, Bahrain, Iraq, Myanmar and elsewhere while working together to counter all aggressions against Islam and Muslims.
Huge value was placed on the Muslim Unity Conference organized by the Muslim Community of Essex in Ilford. It was recognized that there is a need to organize and broadcast such events regularly in the future.
