1st specialized Islamic library opens in Paris suburb

According to the International Islamic News Agency (IINA), the library was launched by Adel, a young French Muslim, with the aim of fighting Islamophobia and anti-Muslim racism in the society.
The founder of the library believes that knowledge is the best weapon against racism.
He said that the library is open to all citizens including Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, and others.
Books on different Islamic issues, philosophy, mysticism, Islamic culture and rituals and scientific fields are available in the library.
There are also books for children that introduce Islam and teach Islamic rituals to the younger generation.
Adel stressed the importance of mutual understanding and knowing each other in order to have a peaceful life and noted that differences provide opportunities for exchange of viewpoints.
He noted that various forums and meetings to be held in the library will promote dialogue among different groups of people.
Some visits to religious sites of the city will also be planned by the library with the aim of developing interactions among followers of different religions in the region.
France is home to a Muslim community of nearly six million, the largest in Europe.
