The 29th Annual Conference of the Asian Association of Open Universities attended by Iran was held in the Malaysian capital.

Deputy Chancellor of Payam-e Noor University Ahmad Alipour who represented Iran at the event presented his country's experience in the field of open university and remote education.

Payam-e Noor University with 700,000 students is considered the biggest open university in the world.

Members of the Asian Association of Open Universities also agreed Philippines as the host of their meeting next year. Tehran hosted the same event two years ago.

One the sidelines of the conference, Alipour discussed avenues for promoting mutual cooperation with chancellors of certain Asian universities.

Asian Association of Open Universities has 62 members from 23 countries of the ancient continent.
