300,000 Afghan students studying in Iran

Ahmad Nour made the remarks while speaking at a gathering of foreign university students and university graduates in central province of Kerman.

The enemies of Afghanistan are seeking to deprive the country of elites, but fortunately, upon an order by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran has left the doors of science and education open to children of Afghan immigrants, Ahmad Nour said.

Appreciating the Supreme Leader's order to admit Afghan students in Iranian schools, he said that this is an opportunity that has to be seized.

More than 200,000 Afghan students apply for entering universities each year, but there is only enough capacity for accepting 50,000 of them in Afghan universities, the ambassador said.

Ahmad Nour thanked God that the children of Afghan refugees have had the chance to study in Iran and brought honor to Afghanistan when returning to their home country.
