A number of cultural and Quranic officials, including Head of the Islamic Ideology Dissemination Organization Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mehdi Khamoushi and Head of the Dar-ol-Quran Organization Mehdi Qarasheikhlu, as well as senior Quranic figures of the country were present at the congress.
It began with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by prominent Qari Master Abbas Salimi and a speech by Qarasheikhlu who briefed the participants on the organization of the congress.
In his speech, he also remembered the Iranian Quranic figures who lost their lives in last year’s disaster in Mina, Saudi Arabia.
Hojat-ol-Islam Khamoushi also addressed the event, stressing the need for understanding and promoting the Quran.
Later in the program, 70 Quran activists, including veteran Quran masters, winners of international and national Quran competitions and prominent Quran teachers were honored for their achievements in Quranic fields.
