Producing textbooks as the main tool of education is one of the main tasks of the educational system and this task is carried out by the Organization for Research and Planning, reports Fars News.
To see the latest status of “Technical” and “Work and Knowledge” Textbooks, we had an interview with Mr. Mohammad Kafashan, deputy of Technical textbooks’ Compilation Office.
This year we have 85 educational packages for these divisions, says Kafashan. Since “Work and Knowledge” is a very vast division (we already have 135 subdivisions in it) and because we are engaged in Technical textbooks for new educational system, we may be able to fully prepare books and packages for “Work and Knowledge). So we focus on 10% of subdivisions which are more popular and have a better chance for occupation.
- Educational Package is the center of Technical divisions
In new system, “Educational Package” is the center not textbook. This package contents many physical and electronic contents like: Textbook, Teacher’s Instruction Book, Educational Software and so on.
He added: In technical divisions students may have 30% theoretical and 70% practical education, while it is wise versa for “Work and Knowledge”. This means that the students should spend 70% of their time in related workshops, but for the time being our technical schools do not have such facilities.
This year, there are 85 packages ready for these divisions, 76 packages for Technical division and 9 for Work and Knowledge.
Deputy of Compilation Office remarked: New system which is begun from last year has specific divisions and they were in accordance with “Reform Document” and society requirements, so the graduates would be employed promptly.
- 200 textbooks for Technical division
There are 75 subdivisions and 2 packages for each subdivision and each package contains 3 books so there are some 200 books for technical division.
- Designing new contents for Technical textbooks
We have designed a new pattern for contents of Technical textbooks, complying with “Reform Document”, so the old structure is gone. What is presented now is completely up-to-date and according to the latest international achievements.
There is a committee of 7 experts for coordinating between contents of books and available equipment in technical schools because as I said, our technical schools do not have new and sufficient equipment.
Contents of books must be and are compatible to international standards. We have also tried to apply the best educational methods and include latest scientific achievements in the books
