9 million students in 23000 schools in Iraq

Fars reports: Mohammad al-eqbal Omar al-Seadaly Iraqy minister of education said in the meeting with his Iranian counterpart: We can achieve new methods in education for the two countries. There are mutual grounds for cooperation but we lack experience in this respect. We need to exchange our experiences specialy in human recourse training. There are many simmilarities between Iraqy and Iranian people and Iranian education ministry can share it's experiences with us.

we have a %1 population growth and on the other hand we suffer from lack of schools in Iraq, he countinued, we have some 9 million students and only 23000 schools while there are 13 million students and 105000 schools in Iran and we need to take advantage of Iran's experiences in many fields like building schools, text books preparation and using private sector capabilities.

Reffering to decreasing qulity of education, the education minister of Iraq said: To improve our educational system, we have 3 resolutions in mind. The first is establishing private schools and encouraging private sector to invest in them, which, we have succeded recently.

2nd wayout is to upgrade and renew our teachers trainings and the third is to have a revision in our educational system, considering that is nearly 40 years we have not had any changes. We face many chalenges in doing so no doubt, and executing these transitions will bring about a storm in our community, since changes are not popular amongst Iraquies and they don't accept them easily, Omar al-seadaly addaed.
