Afghan Vice-President Thanks Iran for Education to Refugee Students

Mohammad Sorur Danesh made the comment in a meeting with visiting Iranian Interior Ministry's Director General of Foreign Citizens' Affairs Ahmad Mohammadifar.

He said that any kind of facilities for education, residence, occupation, and other legal activities of the Afghan immigrants naturally lead to greater proximity of the two nations.

Mohammadifar said that supporting the immigrants is the general policy of the Islamic Republic based on the mentality of high ranking Iranian officials and any move made about the immigrants is aimed at resolving their problems.

'From our point of the view the historical relations of the two countries and the shared values for the two nations make up the backbone of our policymaking and in a bid to do so we have arranged for broad-scale cultural programs to strengthen the two nations' bonds of intimacy,' he added.

The Interior Ministry's Director General for foreign citizens' affairs arrived in Kabul on Sunday evening to participate in the trilateral meeting of Iran-Afghanistan-UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

The trilateral meeting convened on an invitation extended by the government of Afghanistan will work until Wednesday, August 19.

The government of Afghanistan has requested its neighbors to refrain from deporting illegal Afghan refugees.

Meanwhile, Kabul government says that voluntary repatriation of Afghan refugees from other countries is one of the reform priorities of the Afghan National Unity Government.
