Algerian culture minister calls for cultural ties with Iran

In a meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Algiers Reza Aameri, Mayhoubi said that Algeria possesses manuscripts in Persian Language.

He underlined necessity of more communication between elites, authors and art, cultural activists of the two countries.

Mayhoubi welcomed holding Iran's cultural week in Algeria, calling it an important step to introduce Iranian culture and civilization to Algerian Muslim nation.

Mayhoubi, who was appointed as culture minister last month, admired Iranian historical and civilization background, said that Algerian government and nation have special respect for their ties with Iran.

The two sides also discussed and exchanged views on the latest cultural situation between the two countries.

Aameri delivered felicitation message of Iran's Minister of Culture and the Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati to his counterpart on his appointment and also introduced Iran's new cultural attaché in Algeria.

He presented the draft of Iranian executive cultural program for years 2015-2018 and said that Iran is ready to hold cultural week in Algeria early October 2015.
