Ambassadors to Attend National Library’s 80th Anniversary

According to IBNA correspondent director of Public and international relations department of National Library and archives of Iran (NLAI) Mozaffar Pasdar Shirazi said that all the ambassadors and cultural attachés of foreign countries in Iran have been invited the week off to show up at the ceremony and until over 37 officials have accepted our invitation.
"We hope that government officials, cultural, literary and artistic figures as well as the faculty members of the major Iranian universities will attend the event on Monday, February 26 as well, he added.
The week celebrating the 80th anniversary of the foundation of Iran’s National Library and Archives will be held on February 24 to 30. The newly purchased manuscripts by NLAI, the special stamp designed for this ceremony and the new books published on the occasion will also be unveiled during the programs of the forthcoming week.
Currently, NLAI contains the many different collections from older libraries, such as many rare and precious manuscripts. The library by itself is located in an area of 90,000 square meters, which makes it one of the largest library areas in the Middle East. The place features five separate halls, each of them allocated to a different field of study, including Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, Science and Science Education, as well as Health Studies.
