Ardebil Hosting Iran’s School Students Quran Contest

According to Director General of the Education Ministry’s Quran, Etrat and Prayers Department Mohammad Reza Mosayyebzadeh, the contest for boys began today and will continue until Friday, and the girls’ competition will be held on July 16-19.

Some 1200 school students from all provinces of the country are taking part in the national Quranic event.

The Mohaqqeq Ardebili University is hosting the Quran competition.

Quran memorization and recitation, prayers, Adhan (call to prayers), Nahj-ul-Balaqa, Quran interpretation and Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh are among the categories of the contest.

According to Mosayyebzadeh, some 7 million students took part in the preliminary and provincial stages of the contest.

He said the competition is aimed at encouraging students to get more acquainted with the Quran.

He also noted that there will be various cultural and religious programs for the participants on the sidelines of the contest.
