Are there too many people going to university?

Record numbers of students are entering university each year and following the removal of the cap on university places, the UK government has predicted that this trend is likely to continue, the telegraph reported.

Just shy of 410,000 students were accepted into university by midnight on Results Day last summer, an increase of around 13,000 from 2014.

Could these numbers be affecting the value of a degree? There are many who would say yes.

According to figures released this year, it is now easier than ever to obtain a first-class honors degree with 22 percent of graduates achieving the top grade in 2014/15, double the year previous.

Should schools be doing more to encourage sixth formers down different pathways following A-levels? Or should we see these increases as positive?

There are valid arguments to both support and oppose the rise in university intake, but can we change your mind?
