Austrian Culture Exhibition to Be Held in Shiraz

Mosayyeb Amiri who was speaking with the Graz City Museum director announced the readiness of his office for hosting the cultural event, leaving the decision making on the exact time for it to the Austrian officials.

'We favor expansion of bilateral cultural and tourism relations and hope the expansion of cultural ties will lead to boosting tourism ties as well,' he added.

Referring to the historical and natural tourism attractions of Iran's Fars province, Amiri reiterated that the ancient Iranian province welcomes the Austrian tourists.

He referred to the activities of 15 specialized museums in Fars province, adding that five others are now under construction in Pasargad, Shiraz, Bawanat and Abadeh cities.

'The Acheamenids Specialized Museum in Persepolis Palaces Complex and the Sassanid Specialized Museum in Kazerun City are now active and the Fars Province Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism Office intends to organize a specialized museum in each city of Fars province.

'The largest museum of the Middle East and the garden museum of grand Iranian personalities is now under construction on the northern side of the Hafez Mausoleum which will hopefully be officially opened within two years' time.'

The Austrian cultural official said that holding the Austrian Culture Exhibition by the side of the Iranian internationally renowned poet Hafez will be a great pride for his country.

Gerhard Dimes said that Austria will be putting on display cultural products, historical artifacts and printed material such as books in the exhibition, which is hoped to boost the bilateral cultural ties.
