Ayatollah Sistani Urges Measures for Preventing Tragedies in Hajj

In a message released on Friday, the grand source of emulation also wished speedy recovery for those injured in the incident.
He further called for necessary measures to be taken in order to prevent such tragedies.
Some 2000 pilgrims, including over 130 Iranians, died and many more injured in the stampede on Thursday in the worst disaster to strike the annual Hajj pilgrimage in a quarter century.
The tragedy happened when a large crowd of pilgrims were on their way to participate in one of the last Hajj rituals.
The disaster has raised questions over the Saudi regime’s ability to manage the large influx of pilgrims into the kingdom during the Hajj pilgrimage season every year.
