Baku keen on boosting cultural ties with Tehran

In a meeting with Iran’s deputy minister of culture and Islamic guidance Hadi Hosseini in Nakhchivan on Wednesday on the sidelines of ‘Festival of Nakhchivan Cultural Capital of Islamic World’ which was attended by ministers and deputy ministers of 17 Islamic countries.

Qarayev welcomed holding such events, stressing cultural cooperation and boosting relations among Muslim states.

Referring to Iran’s cultural week in Baku slated for June 27-July 1, he hoped that such programs would continue by both sides.

Meanwhile, Hosseini held a meeting with the Chairman of Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov on Wednesday.

Nakhchivan was selected as capital of Islamic world cultural capital in 2018 during the Sixth Conference of Islamic Cooperation Council in October 2009 when Tabriz was also chosen as the tourism capital of Islamic world.
In 2017, Mashhad in northeastern of Iran was cultural capital of Islamic world.
