Book of Poems on Imam Hossein Unveiled at NDWBF

This book is collected and published in three languages of Persian, English and Arabic, by the effort of Hojatoleslam Dr. Davood Kamijani, Deputy Cultural Attaché of the Islamic Republic of Iran in New Delhi. Professor Chander Shekhar, Head of the Persian Department of New Delhi University, Dr. Singh, President of the Central Library of the University of Delhi and a group of professors and students of Persian language and those interested in the progeny of the prophet participated in this event which was held in the conference hall of the International Book Fair in New Delhi.
"Our knowledge of Imam Hussein (AS) is limited to his life when he was 57 years old and his 10 years of Imamate and the 10 days of Karbala. Studying the life of Imam Hussein (AS) from all sides and publishing it is a proper way to introduce the character of that Imam. The outstanding event of Ashura has caused his other parts of personality remain in a shadow”, Dr. kamijani said in the ceremony.
He further added that Shiite Imams used to compose poems according to their time and place and sometimes relied on old poetry too. There are many poems quoted from Imam Hussein both in the event of Karbala and on several other occasions.
