Bucharest Museum Hosting Iranian Cultural Festival

A wide range of art and cultural programs has been arranged during the festival that will run until February 8, the Persian service of IRNA reported on Friday.

Several films have been selected to go on screen at the festival. They include Reza Mirkarimi’s "Today”, Shahriar Bahrani’s "Saint Maryam” and Ehsan Abdipur’s "All Alone”.

"Once Upon a Time Love and Hatred” by Davud Bidel and "Five-Star” by Mahshid Afsharzadeh are also included.

Artworks by Iranian contemporary artists are also on display. Paintings by artists Maryam Mudi, Akram Oliyai, Leila Sarvandi, Zahra Akrami, Shahrzad Daryazadeh, Leila Fallah, Mitra Kavian and Ebrahim Olfat have been showcased at the exhibit.
Persian carpets and handicrafts are also among the treasured items being shown.

The museum manager Virgil Stefan Nitulescu, Romanian Filmmakers Union President Laurentiu Damian and Iran’s ambassador Hamid Moayyer were among the guests at the opening ceremony.

Chairman of the Commission on Culture, Art and Mass Media of the Senate Georgica Severin, also attending the ceremony, praised works by Iranian artists, and said that the event will help provide the basis for expansion of cultural relations between the two countries.

The Village Museum depicts the abundance of the Romanian peasant life. It also reveals the diversity in the architecture of the wood, the originality of wood manufacturing and processing, as well as the Romanian peasant’s creativity.
