Consumption of flowers in developed countries 20 times higher than Iran

Speaking to IRNA, Shafiei said that per capita consumption of cut flowers in European countries is between 100 and 200 while Iran's per capita consumption stands at 5-7.

With brilliant sunlight and climate diversity – having cold regions, hot regions and semi hot regions at the same time – Iran is one of the world's richest countries, he said, regretting that the country's per capita consumption of flowers is not remarkable.
He said that imports of artificial flowers to the countries have made the culture of using natural flowers to be replaced by using artificial flowers.

2.3 billion cut flowers are annually produced in Iran.
