Cultural Activities of Russia’s Islamic Studies Foundation Lauded

During the ceremony, Hamid Hadawi Moqaddam, the head of the foundation, was awarded the Terra Incognita (unknown land) annual literary prize in the “educational activities” field and the activities of the foundation in publication of scientific, research and educational works in order to introduce Islamic-Iranian culture to the Russian society and boost the intercultural relations were appreciated.
During its eight years of activities, the foundation has played an influential role and taken positive steps in development of Islamic studies and cultural fields at the academic level in Russia.
It has organized scholarly meetings and educational course in different universities and academies of the country, participated in different book fairs, supported Islamic researches and development of Islamic studies in scientific centers of Russia.

The prize was also awarded to Ahmad Dehqan for his novel titled “Journey to Heading 270 Degrees” which was selected as the best work in the field of oriental literature.
The foundation has published the novel as one of the best-sellers Iranian works and Reza Maleki, Iranian cultural attaché in Russia, represented the author of the book in the ceremony and received the prize.
Terra incognita (unknown land) prize is annually awarded to the authors of the best documentaries and stories which are seeking new viewpoints in solving research problems.
Innovation, high scientific and cultural level and observation of human principles are some of the criteria for receiving the prize.
