During a last week meeting with Art and Cultural Organization of Tehran Municipality Director Mahmud Salahi, Yerevan Deputy Mayor Aram Sukiasyan welcomed expansion of cultural relations and holding cultural festivals in Tehran and Yerevan.
“We are expecting the mayor of Tehran to visit Yerevan to sign a cultural agreement between the two organizations,” Aram Sukiasyan said.
Salahi, for his part, also pointed to the historical cooperation, especially on art and culture, between the two cities and counted the Blue Mosque in Yerevan as point of understanding between Islam and Christianity.
According to Tehran.ir, the Armenian city leader also said that he would make closer relations to Tehran and would warmly receive the idea of cultural weeks in both cities of Tehran and Yerevan.
