Dr. MOHAMMADIAN’S MESSAGE FOR TEACHER’S WEEK

IN THE NAME OF GOD, MERCIFUL AND COMPASSIONATE

11th of Ordibehesht (May 1st) is a reminder of martyrdom of Prof. Motahari, Islamic Revolution’s teacher who dedicated his life to compiling, teaching and publishing and his end became manifesting role of teacher in blood.

Today, enjoying such ideals of dedication, devotion, responsibility, honesty and national and religious passion, teachers are proud of their positions as teachers.

Iran needs teachers more than ever. Teacher lays foundation of the identity of next generation based on Iranian, Islamic and Revolutionary beliefs at the time, when erasing identity is the main project of the world control system.

Teacher’s role in fortifying values and cultural basis and expanding religious, national and civil knowledge is irreplaceable. Reducing this role and attempt to replace it is disastrous, not in long run, but in short time.

Cultural and social field researches prove teachers to be among the first reference groups and this reference must be up to dated constantly to be more effective in improving life style and achieving enriched life. Preserving social position of teachers is a duty for government and people. A community respecting teachers is in fact a society respecting every individual. You cannot expect teachers to be role models, professionally updated and affectionate in teaching if you don’t provide necessary requirements.

All aspects of education and educational system summarize in teachers and achieving goals of “Reform Statement” is possible through training teachers qualified for Islamic Republic and providing their welfare.

It is expected from policy and plan makers to understand truth of teachers’ lives, considering their talents, passion and beliefs in cultural, pedagogical and educational heritages and to regard educational system as a priority, in order to secure country’s future.

It is not far from truth, if we claim that no reward is more welcome for teachers than supporting them in their mission.

I, as an old student, parent of student and as a fellow educational colleague kiss teachers’ hands and congratulate Teacher’s Day to them. I would be honored if you accept this greeting from me.
