He reported the growth rate of literacy as follow: 25 - 64 years old 2.65%, 15-24 years old 0.5 %. At the beginning of this season number of population between 10 - 49 years was 53,700,000 of which, 40,780,000 have graduated 5th or 6th grade and are considered literate by us.
In 1395 71,000 illiterate parents were educated which is 30% of our outcome.
Literacy rate of foreign citizens had grown from 6% at the victory of Islamic Revolution(1979 to 60% at 1395SH (2016AD).
In the current year 18,600 foreign citizens have signed up that 80% of their expenses is covered by Islamic Republic of Iran, 18% by UNHCR and 2% by Norway.
He stated efficiency of Kordestan, Chahar Mahal va Bakhtiary, Kermanshah, Ardebil, Fars and West Azerbaijan 100% and added: Sessions of the Literacy Support High Council which were shut down during 9th and 10th governments, are now holding at the presence of the Vice President and his deputies and special attention is made for poor regions.
