Envoy calls for further cultural cooperation between Iran, Afghanistan

Mohammad Reza Bahrami, after a visit to Iran’s Scientific, Cultural, and Book Fair in Kabul, said to the IRNA reporter that Iranians and Afghans have a lot of cultural points in common and that holding book fairs in Kabul is a symbol of the necessity in interaction between the two nations.

Referring to the large number of visitors, he added, “A point that was noticeable in the fair was the fact that access to Farsi books is really important to Afghans, especially the university students.”

Bahrami said, “If we can hold fairs with the presence of other countries that have the same culture and Farsi as their language and live in the same cultural zone, nations will be closer to one another.”

The Iran Book Fair in Kabul was visited by many cultural and non-cultural Afghan authorities. Presence of Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, in the opening ceremony shows the importance of the fair.

The Fair opened on April 12 and continues until April 19 in eastern Kabul.
