Foreign Envoys Plant Trees in Tehran to Celebrate Friendship

In a ceremony in Shahr-e Aftab Fair Ground here on Monday, ambassadors of Paraguay, Tajikistan, Cuba, Thailand, Croatia, Germany, Algeria, Pakistan, Palestine, Ghana and Kazakhstan as well as representatives of the United Nations organizations residing in Tehran planted trees in the name of their respective countries.
They were taking part in a ceremony organized by Tehran Municipality to celebrate Tehran as a city of friendship.
This week is observed throughout the country as an occasion for planting trees as a ritual which enjoys very old history in the country.
Shahr-e Aftab Fair Ground with the area of 138 hectares is in the vicinity of Imam Khomeini Mausoleum in the south of Tehran.
