Foreign Languages Need Regulating

In an interview with PANA News, Mohyeddin Bahram Mohammadian pointed to the concern recently expressed by the supreme leader over paying too much attention to teaching English at schools and his advice on promoting teaching of other languages such as Spanish, French, and Eastern languages. He said, 'some time ago at OERP, the case of lingual colonialism was discussed. I have raised the point in the introduction of my book titled Administration of the Quran too' reported by OERP Public and International Relations quoting PANA.

He added, 'interpersonal communication is not the only function of a language but languages convey their own cultures furthermore, so many years ago the supreme council of education approved and permitted learning of other languages such as German, French, Russian and Italian as a second language at schools so needed textbooks were compiled thereafter, however not many schools offer various foreign languages and not many students choose languages other than English.

He concluded that this issue must become operational so that presence of other languages at schools is practically realized and promoted.
