Funeral of ‘Martyr of Haram’ Begins in Tehran

A large number of senior officials and people from all walks of life are attending the funeral for the ‘martyr of Haram’ at the Iranian capital city’s Imam Hussein (AS) Square.

Earlier in the morning, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei paid a visit to the square and recited Fatiha and prayed that God bless the martyr’s soul and elevate his ranks to the highest.

The Leader also talked with members of the martyr’s family, appreciating their courage and prayer to Almighty God to bestow patience and fortitude on them.

Hojaji, a member of the Iranian advisory support team in Syria and a "Haram (holy shrine) defender”, was taken captive by the Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) Takfiri terrorist group near the Iraqi border in early August and beheaded later.

On August 30, based on a ceasefire deal between Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah and Daesh, the body of Martyr Hojaji was delivered to Hezbollah to be returned home.

The shrine of Hazrat Zeinab (SA), a sister of Imam Hossein (AS), the third Shiite Imam, is located in Damascus, Syria. Iranian military advisers have played a decisive role in the protection of the holy shrine against terrorist attacks.

At the request of Iraq and Syria, the Islamic Republic has been providing advisory assistance to the respective countries’ armies in their fight against Takfiri terrorists.
