According to the news department of Sa’adabad Palace Cultural-Historical Complex, the exhibition features 19 exquisite glass paintings based on illustrations in a version of ‘Shahnameh’and from the Timurid dynasty.
The glass paintings have been produced after two years of study, mending and reconstruction of original illustrations by Marzieh Sadat Kamanian and her team of female artists including Yasaman Siavashi, Fatemeh Kahlouei and Masoumeh Karimian who have created such paintings for the first time.
The ‘Shahnameh’ version which was taken as model is kept in the Majlis (Parliament) Library Museum and Documentation Center.
Concurrent with displaying these 19 works, a workshop will be held in Sa’adabad Gallery to teach these skills of painting on glass to those interested.
