The inaugural ceremony was attended by Ambassador of Iran Mehdi Honardoost, Cultural Counsellor at the Embassy of Iran, Shahaboddin Daraei and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Affairs Irfan Siddiqui.
Shahaboddin Daraei on the occasion said personalities like Hafez Shirazi and Allama Iqbal (Pakistani philosopher and poet) cannot be bounded in territorial, political or cultural geography of a nation; they are like shining stars in the sky of science and literature, of the world humanity.
He went on to say that today with the advent of extremism and decadent takfiri thoughts, the young generation is facing confusion, in finding the path of truth and humanity.
He added that there is an urgent need to reconsider the sublime mystical beliefs, and religious tolerant thoughts of Hafez, Iqbal and Moulana Rumi; thoughts which are based on religious beliefs, centered on pure monotheism and Prophecy of Muhammad (PBUH) and revolve around affection, amongst human beings.
“These principles and beliefs, must replace the counterfeit takfiri thoughts, presented in the name of Islam, in the Islamic societies and beyond,”Daraei said.
