Hafez Studies wraps up in Tajikistan

Iran's Cultural Attaché in Dushanbe Ebrahim Khodayar described the people of Tajikistan as those who live with the Persian poet's heritage, IRNA reported.

"Even 600 years after Hafez's death, people far away from the poet's birthplace, keep his books and turn to the spirit of his poems to raise their children," he added.

Speaking about the interest of Tajik children in reading and learning Hafez's poems, he said that Persian language, as a common bond between Iran and Tajikistan, should be preserved.

A number of participants recited some of the Hafez sonnets and the winners of the course were awarded at the closing ceremony.
