Hamburg Quran Competition Aimed at Identifying Europe Quranic Talents

Hojat-ol-Islam Esmaeil Ansari, head of the Dar-ol-Quran of the Islamic Centre Hamburg, which hosted the event, made the remark, adding that it was also aimed at promoting the youths’ acquaintance with the Holy Book, and institutionalizing the Quranic culture among the younger generation.

The fifth edition of the European Quran competition was held in the German city on March 10-12.

Some 160 Quran activists from different European countries took part in the competition.

Hojat-ol-Islam Ansari, who also serves as cultural and social deputy of the Islamic Centre Hamburg, referred to the level of this year’s competition as having been higher than previous years, adding that the number of participants has also increased year after year.

He also said that the categories of Quran memorization and Quranic concepts had the highest number of contestants.

The cleric went on to say that the Islamic center did its best to organize the Quranic event in the best way.
