Hamedan historical monuments need renovation

Some of them include Hegmataneh Hill, Nushijan Citadel, rock-art reliefs of Arzan Food, Samen Underground City, Lotfalian Museum in Malayer, Qaleh Bathhouse, Avicenna Mausoleum, Baba Taher Mausoleum, Farsafaj Caravanserai, Jame' Mosque, Qorban Tower, Zarrabi House, Ahmadi House and Alavian Dome.

Bahram Tutunchi, the deputy head of Hamedan Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Department, said that the Cultural Heritage Department seeks to receive credits for the renovation of historical monuments, Iran Daily reported.

He named Jame' Mosque, Hegmataneh Hill, rock-art reliefs of Arzan Food, Avicenna Mausoleum, Samen Underground City and Nushijan Citadel as monuments that enjoy priority for renovation.

Tutunchi noted that since Avicenna Mausoleum is one of the most favored sightseeing sites of the province, its renovation is of high importance.

The official said renovation of several historical monuments, including Haji Bathhouse, was completed in the year ending March 2015.

Some 5.8 billion rials were spent for renovation of historical monuments of the province last year, including 900 million rials spent for organizing Hamedan Bazaar.

He called work on Alavian Dome, the dome's paintings and lighting as renovation programs of the current year.

“The department and private sector jointly seek to issue identity certificates for museums run by the private sector and renovate historical houses such as Ahmadi House, Seifi House and Feizi House,” he said.

Tutunchi also said that given the extensive nature of renovation, the credits should be allocated before the start of cold season and harsh weather conditions.

“Hamedan's working season includes springs and summers,” he said.
