Holding Iranian-German Cultural Fairs Proposed

According to IBNA correspondent, in this visit, Seyyed Reza Salehi Amiri, the Head of National Library and Archives Organisation  stressed the need for developing scientific and cultural cooperation between Iran and Germany and said: "Iran’s cultural position in the Middle East is notable and in regard to the Islamic Shi’ite approach, it will be the focus of the fight against extremism.”
The adviser to the President noted the positive role of Germany in the nuclear talks and said: "Iranian society holds a positive view towards Germany, but unfortunately the new generations in both countries are not much acquainted with each other’s rich culture. Therefore, I propose an exhibition of written heritage and documents of Iran to be held in Munich and a German written heritage exhibition in Tehran.”
Salehi Amiri referred to the significant advances of Germany in the field of library and archives and said: "I have already heard of the Munich Library and know about the interesting history of this library. We are interested to learn about the experiences of Germany in the field of restoration and maintenance of manuscripts as well as digitalizing the sources.”
After the meeting, Salehi and his delegation visited the State Archive in Munich and the International Library of Children and Adolescents and also met with the managers of these two complexes.
