The ICDL Foundation of the Islamic Republic of Iran won the UNESCO International Award for 2018

According to the Director of the ICDL Foundation of Iran, Mr. Soltani Fard, the ICDL Foundation project of the Islamic Republic of Iran won the UNESCO International Award for 2018 as the premiere of the International Literacy Prize (Confucius Award).

The award was given at the same time as the World Literacy Day ceremony was held with the presence of Dr. Baqerzadeh, the deputy minister and head of the Educational Institution of Education, as the representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the main headquarters of UNESCO in Paris.

This project was proposed by the ICDL of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the first time to the organization of literacy movement in 2014, and this plan was concluded after the expert review on October 15, 2015, through a memorandum of cooperation between the Organization for Research and Educational Planning and the Education Literacy Movement Organization.

In the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Organization for Research and Educational Planning and the Organization of Literacy Movement in the academic year of 1393-94, this project was conducted experimentally in Tehran Province and was implemented in the academic year of 1394-95 in 5 provinces. In the academic year 1395-96, it was broadened in 11 provinces including Isfahan, Sistan and Baluchestan, Gorgan, Kurdistan, Yazd, Tehran, Fars, Gilan, East Azarbaijan, Ardebil and Khorasan Razavi and in 17 cities. In the academic year of 96-97, in all provinces was implemented, and till today more than 6128 transitional literacy students have completed Equql Skills training and international degrees.

The above plan includes English language training: 16 hours, computer familiarization: 20 hours, computer skills: 24 hours, which totals to 60 hours.

This program is being implemented throughout the country in the academic year of 1397-98.
