ICDL IRAN ANNUAL FORUM 2017

ICDL Iran Annual Forum was held in historical school Dar ol-fonon on 15th February of 2017.

Close to 250 test centers’ managers as well as officials from Ministry of Education attended the forum where the ECDL Foundation 20th Anniversary was celebrated and new ICDL programmes were introduced.

The event began with a video message by Mr. Damien O’Sullivan, CEO of ECDL/ICDL Foundation, followed by a speech from Dr Mohamadian, Iran’s Vice Minister of Education on the importance and need of learning ICT by teachers and students as well as the influence of ICT in Education.

Officials from the Ministry of Education also emphasized on the necessity of learning ICT and ICDL for the young and citizens at large. The Head of Human Resources from the ministry spoke about the critical role of ATCs in empowering teachers and lecturers to achieve this standard.

 

The second session in the afternoon was greeted with a video message by Ms. Tina Wu, General Manager of ICDL Asia on the remarkable year of ICDL implementation in Asia, including Iran. Manager of ICDL Iran, Mr Alireza then shared about the current and future programmes and plans of ICDL in Iran.


YOUNGEST ICDL CANDIDATE CERTIFIED AT THE AGE OF 6 FROM IRAN

The ICDL profile certificate was awarded to one of the youngest ever candidate during ICDL Iran Forum on 15th Febuary 2017.

Berelian Yagoti Moghaddam, six years of age, was presented with her ICDL profile certificate, witness by 250 attendees of the forum. She had received her e-Kids certificate last year at the age of 5.


Endorsement of ICDL Certification for Teachers in Iran


ICDL Iran is pleased to announce that the Ministry of Education has endorsed the ICDL Certification to be equivalent to the Septet Skills in May 2014.

The Septet skills consists of 7 ICDL Modules is made mandatory for all clerks with the awarding of the Service Training Certificate at completion.

With the endorsement of the ICDL Certification, all Iranian teachers are now required to pass 7 ICDL modules and will be awarded the ICDL Certification which is now equivalent to the Service Training Certificate.

ICDL Iran Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary

 


ICDL Iran Foundation celebrated the 10th anniversary of its establishment on 12 July. During his congratulatory speech, the Head of the ICDL Iran Foundation shared on the vision of ICDL Iran as well as its work and the programs implemented for the past 10 years.

ICDL Day, celebrated annually, is the day in which Iran ICDL has signed the contract with the ECDL / ICDL Foundation. This year, for ICDL Day, several interviews were broadcasted on the Islamic Republic of Iran National Radio's programme, addressing different topics such as articulating the objectives and plans of ICDL Iran Foundation, introducing the ICDL Day, the necessity of Digital Literacy, publishing in cyberspace, commercial perspective toward IT field and IT science and its promising views ahead. This year, ICDL Day coincided with the 10th anniversary of ICDL Iran establishment.

Iran ICDL Foundation has proclaimed a special day as ICDL Centre Day for each centre as it is the day in which that centre has signed the test centre contract with Iran ICDL Foundation. This nomination has been done with the purpose of extending advertising activities of the centre. The test centres in all provinces and cities celebrate this day and will organise special courses, advertising and informative programs.

11th Anniversary of ICDL Iran Celebrated with ICDL Day on 22 July


22 July was ICDL Day in Iran, as the 11th anniversary of the establishment of ICDL Iran was celebrated. A variety of activities were held to mark the day, including radio interviews broadcast on the Islamic Republic of Iran National Radio. Listeners had the chance to call-in with their questions about the ICDL programme, while pre-recorded segments addressed topics such as the future of ICDL in Iran. A discount on registration fees for the Computer Aided Design, Image Editing, Web Editing, and Computer Essentials modules was also announced for candidates who register by the end of the summer.

ICDL Iran releases new curriculum to teach basic computer skills to adult learners


 

From the beginning of spring 2014, ICDL Iran started introducing a new curriculum for literacy learners that are under cover of education by Literacy Movement Organization of Iran.

In this e-literacy program, it is intended to teach basic computer level of knowledge and skills to adult learners with low IT proficiency skills. Consultations were carried out through several workgroups.

It is supposed, the courses will be run initially as a pilot phase in five provinces. Results will be collected and if successful, the project would be implemented in provinces at the final stage.
