'Imam Khomeini Spiritual Father of Awakening’ Confab in Thailand

It will be held a few days after Iran marked the 26th anniversary of the demise of Imam Khomeini (RA), the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Thursday.

Head of the Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Ayatollah Akhtari will attend and address the conference.
A number of scholars and devotees of Imam Khomeini (RA) from Thailand will also be present at the conference.

It will be organized by the Iranian Cultural Center in Thailand, which also held a commemoration ceremony on Thursday.
As well as a speech by Ayatollah Akhtari, the conference will feature lectures by the Iranian cultural attaché and four Thai thinkers.

Three new books will also be unveiled during the conference.
Rouhollah Mousavi Khomeini, better known as Imam Khomeini, was born in the central Iranian city of Khomein on September 24, 1902 to a family of scholars.

He led Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution, which culminated in the overthrow of the US-backed Mohammad Reza Pahlavi’s monarchy. Pahlavi was Iran’s last monarch.
Imam Khomeini passed away on June 4, 1989 at the age of 87.
