Iran’s Int’l Quran Contest to Kick Off in Tehran on April 19

According to the organizers, the participants will start their competitions in the categories of recitation and memorization on Wednesday afternoon.

The international Quran contest for the visually-impaired is planned to get underway on Wednesday, too.

Iran will host other international Quran competitions this month, including the one for school students, which will start on Saturday, April, 22, and the one for women, slated for Sunday, April 23.

Earlier this week, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mostafa Hosseini, the head of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization’s Quranic Affairs Center, told IQNA that more than 280 Quran reciters and memorizers will take part in the upcoming international Quranic events in Iran.

Taking into account those accompanying the contestants and others invited, the total number of foreign guests during the Quranic events will reach 400, he added.
