Iran ambassador meets Romanian Persian language, literature students

'The rich Persian language and literature are thousands of years old and are considered as a heritage of the mankind, and like the Silk Road, the Persian language has served as a bridge contributing to linking the West and the East,' said Hamid Moayyer, after welcoming the enthusiastic Persian language students and congratulating them for their nice choice of a foreign language.

He added that the Islamic Republic of Iran, too, is today playing a linking role between the East and West thanks to its geographical position.

The Iranian ambassador, furthermore, focused on such great Iranian scientists, poets, and physicians as Avicenna, Hafez, Sa'adi, Khayyam, Ferdowsi, and Rumi who have throughout long centuries kept hoisting the flag of science and literature in the East.

The students of Persian language and literature in the meeting appreciated Iran's contributions to Persian language teaching, including dispatching professors to the University of Bucharest, expressing hope that such contributions will continue in the future.
