Iran attending Beirut Intl. Arab Book Fair

The fair was inaugurated by Lebanon Prime Minister Tammam Salam.

“The fair, which is co-organized by the Arab Cultural Club and the Union of Publishers, devoted an intellectual meeting space far from any kind of political, economic and security issues”, KUNA quoted Salam as saying.

He also regretted the "terrorist acts" in Beirut and Paris, noting that Lebanon is facing terrorist acts which sought to sow seeds of sedition and destabilize the country.

Iran’s cultural attaché office, as a representative of Iranian publishers including Alhoda, is presenting 170 book titles in Arabic, French and English.

Throughout history, Iran and Lebanon have enjoyed cultural commonalities and the scholars and artists of both countries have made cultural exchanges to create joint works.

During the book fair, Iran’s Alhoda Publications is after finding ways for mutual cooperation. Moreover meetings have been planned with the publishers and cultural activists of Lebanon in which joint international activities will be discussed.

The book fair will wrap up on December 10.
