Iran attends Thessaloniki Book Fair

The fair started with 10,000 books from 250 publishers from 21 countries.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Greek Minister of Culture Lydia Koniordou said that one of the goals of the fair is to encourage the Geek people to read books, and thus authors and intellectuals have a heavy duty.

On the sidelines of the fair, the Iranian cultural attaché Ali Mohammed Helmi in Athens had a short meeting with Koniordou; and both sides stressed on expansion of cultural ties.

The Iranian stall received rapturous welcome.

The books “Mary, Jesus and Christianity: an Islamic Perspective”, “love in Islam”, “Call of Monotheism (A letter to Gorbachev)”, 'The Position of Women from the Viewpoint of Imam Khomeini', “Imam Khomeini's Will”, “Analytic History of Islam”, and “Selections from Nahj al-Balagha (a collection of sermons, letters, interpretations and narrations from Imam Ali , cousin and son-in-law of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH))” were welcomed by the visitors.

Thessaloniki Book Fair is held every year in May.
