Iran, Austria Eyeing Enhanced Scientific, Technological Cooperation

During the meeting held in Tehran, the two sides highlighted the extensive fields for mutual cooperation of Iran and Austria, and underlined the necessity for collaboration based on human capabilities.

“Iran’s Human and technological capabilities provide a good opportunity for the presence of foreign companies and investors,” Sattari said.

“Iran and Austria can thus have good technology-based cooperation in the post-sanctions era and establish active companies in different fields,” he added.

Sattari went on to say that the activities of Iranian companies in such strategic fields as biotechnology, nanotechnology, information and communications technology, and aerospace science have prepared the grounds for Iran-Austria technological cooperation.

Buchmann, for his part, expressed Austria’s willingness to interact with Iran based on joint investment and cooperation in Iran’s scientific and technological complexes.

Back in July 2015, Sattari in a meeting with Austrian President Heinz Fischer in Vienna had discussed closer scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries.

The promising prospect of trade with Iran after the recent implementation of the nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers has prompted major European countries to explore the market potential in the Middle East nation.
