Iran, Austria form joint technology working group

The session was held at the presence of Ali Morteza Birang, Iranian Deputy Science Vice-President for International Affairs Ali Morteza Birang and Austrian ambassador to Iran Friedrich Stift.

“Vast opportunities exist for cooperation between Iran and Austria in numerous areas,” underlined Birang saying “on the basis of Iran-Austria five-year roadmap, the two sides will collaborate in areas of environment, mining and renewable energy technologies though much room exists for further bilateral cooperation in solar energy and energy efficiency sectors.”

Also at the meeting, Austria’s Stift said the first Austrian banks will be established in Iran in order to elevate banking relations between the two parties.

“Delegations will also be exchanged between Tehran and Vienna to visit universities and scientific institutions of the destination country,” underlined the official voicing his country’s willingness to bolster ties with Iran in a variety of fields like incinerators, pollution, transport and biology.

He further invited Iran’s Deputy Science Vice-President for International Affairs Ali Morteza Birang to make an official visit to Austria while a delegation of his country will travel to Tehran by the end of the current year in order to observe aerospace achievements attained by Iran.

The meeting was attended by several Iranian and Australian officials who agreed to define projects and sign agreements between the two sides.
