Iran becomes first ME country exhibiting Mexican civilization

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, the museum's Curator Jebrael Nokandeh said that the museum is always ready to promote international cooperation by organizing such exhibitions, ISNA wrote.

Sponsored by the Mexican Embassy and National Museum of Iran, the exhibition aims to introduce the aspects of Mexican history which is less well-known for the Iranians.

Also, Mexico's Ambassador to Iran Ulises Canchola Gutiérrez said ancient historical roots of the two countries and their ancient civilization is of high significance for Iran-Mexico commonalities.

Nokandeh recalled that in 2007, Mexico National Museum of Anthropology and other Mexican cities hosted the exhibition 'Persia: Fragments of Paradise'. "The exhibition provided the opportunity for the Mexicans people to become familiar with Iran's rich culture."

A great number of Persian artifacts dating back from 6000 BC to the early 20th century were put on display at the 2007 exhibition, he added.

The exhibition is underway until November 12.
