Iran Calls For Expansion of Cultural-Art Cooperation With Malaysia

Speaking to IRNA on the sidelines of a joint festival on Islamic cultural, art and calligraphy, Sabeghi called for further expansion of cooperation between the two countries in cultural fields.
Malaysia is regarded as the biggest publication center for printing and distribution of the holy Quran in the Southeast Asia while the Islamic Republic of Iran is the biggest publisher in the West Asia and grounds are well prepared for expansion of Iran-Malaysia cooperation to this end, he said.
The two sides’ researchers have the chance to exchange views on cultural fields to broaden their scope of cooperation, added the diplomat.
Iran and Malaysia are jointly setting up a nine day festival (June 15-23) on the Islamic calligraphic art which would help promote bilateral cooperation on Quranic art.
It also aims at foiling biased propaganda against Shia Muslims in the mind of world Muslims, Sabeghi said referring to certain claims about existence of different versions of the Muslims holy book (Quran) for Shiite and Sunni Muslims.
"Conducting the festival, we are to prove that there is only one Quran for all Muslims of the world” and that Muslims should not pay any attention to biased propaganda against their holy book, said the diplomat.
